我叫林青霞. <3
I've always known that my grandmother from my father's side named me after a Chinese actress but I never got around to actually searching her in the internet. I mean, I should at least know who she is or what she looked like right? After all, I'm named after her. So when my Chinese language teacher started asking us [the students] if we had a Chinese name only a few of us raised our hands. She asked mine and well, she was surprised and in a good way too. She said I was named after a famous actress. Okay, that part I knew already. Then she started going on about how she was famous, how she was a really good actress and that my grandmom must have been such a big fan of hers. I've watched only a few Chinese movies and I've never really encountered her movies even when my mom started watching a lot of the movies shown in Star Mandarin when she was pregnant with my younger brother. My teacher told me to google Lin Qingxia as an assignment for the next class. Unfortunately, the next Saturday, I was not able to go to class for the inexcusable reason that I did not wake up at before 9AM. I woke up at around 10. And then the next Saturday I didn't go again because of the same reason except that I woke up at 12 NN. Finally, today, when I got home from class I googled her and voila! And here she is: Lin Qingxia (Chinghsia) also known as Brigitte Lin.
